When it comes to swimming lessons, many parents wonder whether to sign their child up for year-round lessons or just during the summer months.

While summer swimming lessons can be a fun and enjoyable way to spend the summer, research has shown that year-round swimming lessons can provide many benefits for your child's safety and development. Here are the 10 most important reasons to enrol in year-round swimming lessons:
  1. Safety first! Year-round swimming lessons ensure your child is water-safe all year round, giving you peace of mind no matter the season.
  2. Consistency is key! Continuous swimming lessons means your child will be building on their skills, making progress and mastering strokes in no time.
  3. Confidence booster! By keeping up with swimming lessons year-round, your child will maintain their confidence in the water and feel like a pro.
  4. Achiever Alert! Your child will love the sense of accomplishment they feel as they see their progress and achieve new milestones.
  5. Swimming pro in the making! Children who may have struggled with swimming at first will be motivated to keep going and become a pro.
  6. Swim, swim, hooray! Year-round swimming lessons keep children active and healthy all year round, making it a great form of exercise.
  7. Cost-effective! Instead of paying for lessons only during the summer months, enrolling in year-round lessons can save money in the long run.
  8. Never a dull moment! Children will stay engaged and invested in swimming as they continue to learn and improve all year round.
  9. Dive into different strokes! With year-round swimming lessons, children can learn the 4 key swim strokes and be exposed to different types of swimming, from recreational to competitive.
  10. Familiarity is fun! Staying with the same swimming school and having the same teachers, children will be more comfortable and familiar with the environment, making the learning process more enjoyable.
In conclusion, year-round swimming lessons are an excellent investment for your child's safety, development, and well-being. They provide continuity in learning, help children maintain their confidence, stay active and healthy, and build a lifelong skill, not to mention the cost-effectiveness and opportunity to explore different types of swimming.

Are you ready to make a splash in the world of swim lessons? When it comes to your little ones and swimming, the earlier you start, the better! Research has shown that starting swim lessons for babies and toddlers as young as 18 months can be an absolute blast and provide so many benefits for your child's development.

Starting early means your child will be water-safe in no time! Drowning is a serious concern and swim lessons are a sure-fire way to reduce the risk. Plus, the earlier your child learns about water safety, the more aware they will be around any body of water.

But swim lessons aren't just about safety, they're also about having fun and learning a life-long skill! Swimming is an amazing activity that's perfect for exercise, recreation, and even emergencies. The earlier your child starts, the more time they'll have to perfect their strokes and become confident and comfortable in the water.

Swimming also has a positive impact on your child's physical and mental well-being. It improves coordination, balance, and strength, and promotes relaxation and stress relief. Plus, as your child progresses in their swim lessons, they'll learn different strokes which will be beneficial for their physical development.

When you start your child's swim journey early and stay with the same swim school, you're giving them the gift of familiarity and comfort. They'll feel at ease with environment, the teachers, and the other children in the class. This will make the transition to more advanced swim lessons a breeze, and your child will be excited to show off their new skills.

And when children can see the next stage they will be moving to and know some of the children in that class, it makes the process even more fun and less intimidating for them.

At Beaconsfield Swimming, our instructors love to get to know your child's strengths and weaknesses, and tailor the lessons to suit their needs, making the whole experience more personalized and fun.

In conclusion, starting swim lessons early is a sure way to make a splash in the world of swimming. Not only is it a fun and engaging activity, but it also provides so many benefits for your child's safety, physical and mental development, and overall well-being.

And when you stay with the same swim school, you're providing your child with a familiar and comfortable environment where they can continue to grow and excel. So, don't wait, sign your little ones up for swim lessons today and watch them make a splash in the water!

Swimming  lessons  -  Quick  tips

Swimming lessons are not just about learning a new skill, it's about having fun and making a splash in the water! Introducing your child to swimming as early as possible is the perfect time to build their confidence, self-esteem and most importantly, have some fun.

The earlier you introduce them to swimming, the more time they will have to develop their skills, and the better prepared they will be in case of an emergency.

As a parent, watching from the side as your child (age 3 up) takes their lessons with a teacher in small classes of a maximum of 6 children, is a great way to see them make a splash and have fun while they learn.

Here are some tips to make sure your child has a blast while they learn to swim:
  1. Make a big deal about how exciting it is to learn to swim! Children love to join in when something is fun and exciting.
  2. Get your child excited about swimming by showing them videos, pictures or talking about swimming before their first lesson, this way they will be more eager to start.
  3. Highlight the small victories and give lots of positive reinforcement. This will help boost their self-esteem and confidence.
  4. Be patient and understand that every child learns at their own pace, but with the right attitude and encouragement, they will get there.
  5. Choose a swim school that uses qualified instructors and lifeguards. This will ensure that your child is in a safe environment where they can learn and have fun.
  6. Communicate with the head teacher, ask them about the progress of your child and what you can do at home to support the learning process.
  7. Make sure your child is wearing the appropriate swimwear. Boys wear trunks not baggy bermuda shorts and girls wear one pice swim costumes not bikinis. Swim caps are a must also. This will help to keep them comfortable while they are in the water.
  8. Practice, practice, practice! Encourage your child to practice what they learned in the lesson at home, in the bathtub or in a pool if you can get to one. This will help to reinforce the skills they are learning.

By following these tips, you can help your child have a blast while they learn to swim, build confidence, and have fun in the water! Swimming is not just a skill, it's a lifetime adventure and you and with a qualified teacher, small classes, qualified lifeguards and your positive attitude, your child will make swimming a lifetime passion!
